Liverpool have reportedly tried to strengthen after a disappointing season by submitting a major offer to RB Leipzig for 19-year-old Yan Diomande, but the bid was turned down. The offer was worth €100 million in total, made up of €90 million plus €10 million in bonuses.
According to the report, Leipzig want €120 million for the Ivory Coast winger, reflecting his performances at the World Cup. The German club is also expecting Paris Saint-Germain, the European champions, to join the race for his signature.
Diomande only came into wider attention two years ago, when he was promoted to Leganes' senior team in Spain's top flight at the time. He moved to Leipzig last season for €20 million and has scored 12 Bundesliga goals this season, helping the club secure qualification for the Champions League.
