Liverpool have reportedly tried to strengthen after a disappointing season by submitting a major offer to RB Leipzig for Yan Diomande, but the German club turned it down. The bid was worth €100 million, including €90 million upfront and €10 million in bonuses, according to the report.
Leipzig are said to be demanding €120 million for the 19-year-old Ivory Coast standout, whose performances at the World Cup have raised his value. The club also expects Paris Saint-Germain, the Champions League winners, to join the race for his signature.
Diomande first came to attention two years ago when he was promoted to Leganes’ senior team, then in Spain’s top division. He moved to Leipzig last season for €20 million.
This season, he has scored 12 Bundesliga goals and helped Leipzig move toward qualification for the Champions League.
