Ivorian Star Yan Diomande Chooses Paris Saint-Germain Over Liverpool

Yan Diomande, the 19-year-old Ivorian winger currently playing for RB Leipzig, has identified Paris Saint-Germain as his preferred next club if he leaves Leipzig this summer, according to The Athletic. Diomande, regarded as one of the most sought-after young talents in world football, is attracted by the project led by PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting advisor Luis Campos, and is eager to play under coach Luis Enrique. He believes that moving to Paris will give him the best chance to compete regularly for titles and potentially contend for the Ballon d'Or in the future.

Liverpool had previously shown strong interest, reportedly ready to offer close to 100 million euros, but Leipzig has rejected these bids, demanding closer to 130 million euros. Meanwhile, Leipzig is attempting to secure Diomande with a new contract, despite his current deal running until 2030. Diomande is presently with the Ivory Coast national team at the World Cup and is expected to play a key role in their knockout match against Norway on Tuesday.

Last season, Diomande scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances, helping Leipzig finish third and qualify for the Champions League. Should he be sold, Diomande would become Leipzig's most expensive transfer, surpassing previous sales such as Benjamin Šeško to Manchester United and Josko Gvardiol to Manchester City.
