Israeli police arrested a 36-year-old Arab suspect overnight after he was filmed brutally attacking a woman in her 20s in the town of Azor. The man was reportedly following her before the assault. He was found at his home in Dahariya, near Hebron, and taken for questioning at the Holon police station.
The case began after video of the attack spread on social media and sparked public outrage. Police quickly opened an intensive investigation from the Holon station in the Ayalon area, then expanded the search across multiple districts.
According to police, investigators used a combination of overt and covert measures to identify the attacker. The operation involved the Tel Aviv, Southern, and Judea and Samaria districts of the Israel Police, with close support from IDF personnel.
After locating the suspect in the Palestinian town of Dahariya, security forces raided his home and arrested him. Police said they will ask the court to extend his detention depending on the evidence gathered during the investigation.
