Israel Prepares to Control Lebanon Border Ridge After Hezbollah Tunnel Destruction
Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are preparing operationally to take control of the Ali Taher ridge in Lebanon following the elimination of terrorists and the destruction of Hezbollah's terror tunnels in the area. Katz stated that the IDF's goal is to prevent any attempt by Hezbollah or other groups to re-establish a presence on the ridge, warning that anyone approaching it will be eliminated.
Katz emphasized that the ridge is part of Israel's "red line" and its security zone in southern Lebanon, which spans 700 square kilometers. He reiterated the stance of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and himself, asserting that Israel will not withdraw from this security zone. The IDF will not retreat or redeploy until Hezbollah is disarmed throughout Lebanon, Katz added.
