Israel Demolishes Hezbollah Tunnels in Lebanon, Prepares for Retaliation
Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that Israel has fulfilled its promise by destroying Hezbollah's underground infrastructure in the Ali Taher mountain range, neutralizing "terrorists" and demolishing the tunnels. He commended the IDF for the operation.
Following the operation, IDF forces are repositioning, establishing defensive lines and vacating the Ali Taher ridge. However, they will maintain positions with observation and fire control over areas occupied by Hezbollah.
The military aims to contain the incident and prevent escalation to other fronts. They are preparing for various potential responses, including Iranian retaliation, rocket fire towards northern Israeli communities, or the launch of explosive drones targeting Israeli forces. The likelihood of such reactions is assessed as low.
