Israeli and Palestinian Couple Arrested in Cyprus Drug Smuggling Ring
Cypriot anti-drug authorities have arrested four individuals, including an Israeli man and a Palestinian man presented as a couple, on suspicion of involvement in a drug import and distribution network. The four suspects appeared before a court in Limassol, which ordered their detention for eight days pending investigation.
The investigation began after intelligence units received information suggesting the use of luxury yachts to import and distribute drugs through the ports of Larnaca and Limassol. Police raids resulted in the seizure of drugs and cash.
Authorities searched the 53-year-old Israeli suspect's home near Limassol, discovering 34 grams of cocaine and 246.5 grams of ketamine, along with over 4,000 Euros in cash. The 50-year-old Palestinian suspect's residence yielded a significant quantity of 126 kilograms and 630 grams of ketamine.
