Israeli and Palestinian Couples Arrested in Cyprus on Drug Smuggling Charges
Cypriot drug enforcement units have arrested two couples, one Israeli and one Palestinian, on suspicion of drug trafficking into the country. The operation began after authorities received intelligence regarding the alleged importation and distribution of drugs via luxury yachts, utilizing the marinas and ports of Larnaca and Limassol.
All four suspects were brought before a court in Limassol, where an eight-day arrest warrant was issued against them. During a search of the Israeli suspect's residence, located near Limassol, police discovered 34 grams of cocaine, 246.5 grams of ketamine, and over 4,000 euros in cash.
In the residence occupied by the 50-year-old Palestinian man, police found a significant quantity of ketamine, totaling 126 kilograms and 630 grams.
