Direct Flights to New York Launch, Prices Expected to Drop Post-Holiday

Starting September 15th, five airlines, including three Israeli carriers, will offer direct flights from Ben Gurion Airport to New York. Israir is set to launch its inaugural flight on this date, becoming the third Israeli airline to operate the route. Currently, prices remain high due to peak holiday demand, but travelers flying after the holidays are expected to find options for under $1,000.

As an introductory offer, Issta is providing a $100 discount for bookings made by September 14th, bringing round-trip flights between September 16th and 30th down to $1,499. Significant price drops are anticipated for travel after the holiday season, particularly during the colder months of January and February, when flights may fall below the $1,000 mark. Even during the more pleasant weather of March to May, some dates still offer flights under $1,000.

Tamar Gerzon, CEO of Gulliver, stated that the return of major American carriers alongside the new Israeli routes is a significant development for the US flight market. She noted that increased competition from more airlines, routes, and seats is driving prices down. Gerzon advises booking upcoming trips to New York and the US now to take advantage of attractive prices, highlighting that flights under $1,000 are already available for flexible travelers.

Examples of round-trip flights under $1,000 include Delta Air Lines flights in January and February 2027 for $878, and flights in late February/early March and March 2027 for $773. El Al also offers a flight in March 2027 for $773.
