Woman Wearing Star of David Attacked in Berlin
In Berlin, two men assaulted a 43-year-old woman wearing a Star of David necklace. The incident occurred around 2:30 AM on Torstraße in the Mitte district, according to Bild. The attackers reportedly began shouting antisemitic slurs before one of them attacked the woman with a broken bottle. She sustained several cuts to her hand and was taken to the hospital. The assailants fled the scene. The state security division of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office is investigating the attack.
The Israeli Embassy in Berlin commented on the incident, stating it demonstrates the consequences of antisemitic hatred. With state elections in Berlin scheduled for the following week, the embassy urged all political parties to take a clear stance against antisemitism. "A week before the elections, we expect a clear position from all parties: antisemitism and violence against Jews must have no place in Berlin. No attempts to downplay what is happening. No justifications," the embassy stated.
