Tel Aviv Ranks Third Globally for AI Startups

Tel Aviv has solidified its position as a leading global hub for artificial intelligence development, securing third place worldwide in a ranking of cities with the most AI startups. The Israeli city trails only San Francisco and London in this specialized sector. San Francisco leads the list with 596 AI startups, followed by London with 211. Tel Aviv is home to 189 AI startups, placing it ahead of other major tech centers like New York (180), Beijing (150), and Boston (102). The top ten cities also include Tokyo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, and Paris.

This ranking highlights Tel Aviv's growing significance in the AI field. The city's vibrant startup ecosystem and strong technological infrastructure continue to attract innovation and investment in artificial intelligence.

In a separate report, Israel was ranked 11th globally for national influence in 2026, according to a study by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. The ranking considers economic, military, and public perception factors, with over 15,000 individuals surveyed across 33 countries. Israel's influence score was 56.4, a slight decrease from its 10th place position the previous year, as it was surpassed by the UAE which ranked 10th with 58.6 points. The United States, China, and Russia led this influence ranking. The study also noted the increasing influence of Middle Eastern nations, including Israel, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, on international diplomacy, regional security, and technological development.
