Israel Ranks Third Globally in AI Commercialization
Israel has secured the third position worldwide for the commercialization of artificial intelligence technologies, according to an annual government economic report released prior to Rosh Hashanah. The Jerusalem Post reported this achievement, noting that the country also ranks among the top ten global leaders in AI research, development, and practical implementation.
The Israeli high-tech sector has experienced substantial growth. In the first half of the year, local companies attracted 53% more investments compared to the same period last year, and the TA-125 stock index rose by 35%. Additionally, the national currency strengthened against the US dollar, inflation decreased to 1.5%, and the budget deficit stood at 3.3%, below the target of 4.9%.
The nation's economy continues to develop robustly despite external challenges. The GDP grew by 3.2% in the first half of the current year, with the nominal GDP per capita nearing $70,000. The unemployment rate is at 3.3%, and the employment rate for the working-age population is 71%. This latter figure is slightly below the OECD average, attributed to higher domestic consumer prices.
