Israeli Soccer Player Or Belorian Undergoes Life-Saving Heart Procedure
Israeli national soccer team defender and Sporting Kansas City player Or Belorian, 26, underwent a cardiac catheterization procedure last week after experiencing chest pains and feeling unwell. He was rushed to a hospital in Kansas City and has since been released and is recovering at home.
Belorian shared on Instagram that in the past month he had felt "out of shape," and in the days leading up to the procedure, he experienced chest pains during training. "After in-depth tests, it turned out I needed a medical procedure that saved my life," he wrote. He expressed gratitude for divine intervention and for the problem being discovered and treated in time.
Due to the procedure, Belorian will miss the upcoming Nations League matches at the end of the month, where Israel is scheduled to play four games. His absence adds to that of other players, and replacements have been named for the squad.
Belorian is expected to return to the field after his recovery. The procedure was successful, and he is currently recuperating.
