Israeli Judoka Yitzhak Aspiz Reaches Grand Slam Semifinals in Budapest
Israeli judoka Yitzhak Aspiz has advanced to the semifinals of the Grand Slam tournament in Budapest, Hungary, in the under-60 kg category. This competition serves as a final preparation event for the upcoming World Judo Championships.
Aspiz secured his spot in the semifinals by defeating Doston Ruziev of Uzbekistan in the preliminary round, followed by a victory over Emil Jaring of the Netherlands. He then overcame Turlan Fernandes of Portugal in the quarterfinals.
In another result, Gefe Primo, competing in the under-52 kg weight class, will participate in the repechage round after losing her quarterfinal match to Naomi van Krevel of the Netherlands. Primo had previously won her opening match against Nicole Marks of Brazil.
