Man Chokes While Eating in Netanya, Hospitalized in Serious Condition
A man in his 70s choked while eating in Netanya on Tuesday afternoon, leading to his hospitalization in serious condition. The Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services received a report at 12:26 p.m. regarding the incident.
Upon arrival at the scene, MDA paramedics found the man unconscious, without a pulse, and not breathing. They immediately commenced life-saving resuscitation efforts. During the CPR, a piece of food was dislodged from his airway, and his pulse returned.
"We received a report of a man choking during a meal. When we arrived, we saw the man lying unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing. We immediately began life-saving resuscitation efforts, and during the compressions, we removed a piece of food. After resuscitation efforts, his pulse returned, we brought him to the intensive care unit and evacuated him to the hospital in serious condition," said senior paramedic Maor Branch from MDA's motorcycle unit.
The man was transported to Laniado Hospital in serious condition following the resuscitation and removal of the food obstruction.
