IDF Prepares for Rosh Hashanah with Massive Food Stockpile

The Israeli military has begun its extensive preparations for the upcoming Rosh Hashanah holiday months in advance, ensuring provisions for all forces across various operational sectors. Three distinct catering routes are in place to serve soldiers, ranging from central kitchens to those deployed in deep field locations.

This year's preparations include a significant food supply, with the IDF planning to distribute 9.6 tons of honey, 103 tons of fish, and 41 tons of meat. These provisions are intended to allow soldiers to celebrate the holiday with festive meals, regardless of their location or operational duties.

The military is also addressing the specific needs of its religious soldiers, ensuring appropriate dietary requirements and religious observances are met. This includes providing three different kosher certifications for the food, catering to various levels of kashrut observance. Additionally, a new fruit has been included in the holiday meals, intended for the traditional 'Shehecheyanu' blessing, allowing soldiers to experience a new fruit during the holiday.

The comprehensive logistical effort aims to provide a sense of normalcy and celebration for soldiers serving during the holiday period, acknowledging their service and sacrifice.
