Hapoel Ramat Gan announced on Thursday that it has signed midfielder Maksim Plakuschenko, a significant addition for the newly promoted club after his years at Maccabi Netanya. Netanya decided not to continue with him, allowing him to stay in the Premier League with Ramat Gan.
Plakuschenko signed for one season with an option for another year. He said, “I am proud and happy to join a club with tradition, a new and promising project with high goals. We promise to give 200% on the pitch and fight for our club. I can’t wait to see you in the stands.”
He chose Ramat Gan over other teams after speaking with coach Mesay Dego, who told him he is counting on him and believes he can fill the roles left by Gidi Kanyuk and Moti Barshatzky in attacking midfield. Plakuschenko is not the only prominent Israeli signing linked to the club.
As previously reported by Sport 5, Hapoel Ramat Gan has also reached an agreement with Maccabi Haifa goalkeeper Sharif Kiof, who is expected to reunite with Dego. Kiof’s arrival depends on a release from Maccabi Haifa, and the club expects that to happen once the goalkeeper situation in Haifa becomes clearer. For now, Hapoel Ramat Gan is waiting for him.
