Hapoel Ramat Gan will announce on Thursday that midfielder Maksim Paskochenko has signed with the newly promoted club. Paskochenko is leaving Maccabi Netanya after several seasons there, following the club’s decision not to continue with him, and he will stay in the Israeli Premier League.
According to the report, Ramat Gan beat out other teams for his signature, helped by a conversation with coach Mesai Dego. Dego told him he was counting on him and sees him as the player to step into the roles previously filled by Gidi Kanyuk and Motti Barshatzky in attacking midfield.
Paskochenko is not the only notable Israeli addition for Ramat Gan. The club has also reached an agreement with Maccabi Haifa goalkeeper Sharif Keeouf, who is expected to reunite with Dego.
Keeouf’s move is still conditional on his release from Maccabi Haifa. Club sources expect that to happen only after Haifa’s goalkeeper situation becomes clearer, and for now Ramat Gan is waiting for him.
