Jewish Women in Ukraine Attend Self-Discovery Retreat

The "Achdut" organization hosted its first women's retreat, "Be Yourself," in Kyiv on September 10, bringing together 50 participants. The event aimed to provide a space for women to step away from daily routines, recharge, and discuss personal responsibility, leadership, self-identity, and the role of women within the Jewish community.

The program featured lectures, psychological exercises, creative activities, and informal discussions, with a special focus on Jewish traditions. Attendees observed Shabbat, lit candles, and explored the preservation of community values in contemporary life.

Notable guests and speakers included Yigal Yasinov, head of Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael - Eurasia, Rabbi Yonatan Binyamin Markovitch, and various public figures, psychologists, and specialists.

Nikolay Faengold, director of Achdut, stated that the retreat's objective was to foster a supportive environment where women could recognize their importance not only to their families but also to the broader Jewish community. The organizers anticipate that the connections made during the retreat will facilitate the future growth of the Ukrainian Jewish women's community.
