Orthodox Students Undertake Spiritual and Social Journey in Jerusalem

Ahead of the High Holy Days, seventh and eighth-grade students from the Ohel Avraham Talmud Torah in Kiryat Herzog embarked on a special day trip to Jerusalem. The excursion combined prayer, team-building activities, and inspirational talks.

The day began at the Western Wall, where the students participated in Selichot prayers and offered supplications for the upcoming High Holy Days, immersing themselves in the solemn atmosphere of the holy site.

Following their prayers, the students proceeded to Sacker Park for a communal lunch. They enjoyed pizza and engaged in conversation and bonding activities in a cheerful setting.

The final part of the day involved a special meeting with Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, who offered words of encouragement and guidance on prayer, divine service, and proper preparation for the High Holy Days. During the meeting, the students also received blessings from Rabbi Moshe Chaziza, head of the institutions, and directors Rabbi Meir and Rabbi Shimon Chaziza. Rabbi Yosef praised the educational approach of the institutions, describing it as "education with a smile."

The day successfully blended spiritual reflection and reinforcement with social cohesion, providing the students with a meaningful experience as the new Jewish year approaches.
