Haredi Students Visit Jerusalem for Spiritual and Social Day Before High Holidays

Students from the seventh and eighth grades at the Ohel Avraham Talmud Torah in Kiryat Herzog participated in a special day trip to Jerusalem ahead of the High Holidays. The day was designed to combine spiritual enrichment with social bonding activities.

The students began their day at the Western Wall, where they recited "Slichot" prayers and offered supplications for the upcoming Days of Awe. This experience aimed to immerse them in the atmosphere of mercy and forgiveness associated with this holy site.

Following their visit to the Western Wall, the students proceeded to Sacher Park for a communal lunch. They enjoyed pizza and spent time relaxing, conversing, and strengthening their bonds in a cheerful setting.

The itinerary also included a special meeting with Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel (Rishon LeZion). During this encounter, the students received words of encouragement and guidance on prayer, divine service, and proper preparation for the High Holidays. They also received blessings from Rabbi Moshe Hazzan, head of the institutions, and directors Rabbi Meir and Rabbi Shimon Hazzan. Rabbi Yosef praised the educational approach at the institutions, describing it as "education with a smile."

The day concluded with the students feeling spiritually uplifted and socially connected, marking a meaningful start to the new academic year.
