Fallen Soldier's Mother Joins Likud, Warns of National Decline

Talik Guili, mother of fallen soldier Rani Guili who was the last hostage returned from Gaza, has been placed ninth on the Likud party's Knesset list. In a party broadcast, Guili stated that "our enemies are afraid of us today." She warned that if "the other camp wins, everything we have achieved until now will fall. The memory of all the heroes of the kingdom who fought for us will disappear."

Guili shared that during the difficult period since the October 7th massacre, her connection to Israel sustained her. She expressed pride in the nation, saying, "You don't understand what strength it gives to see all the flags, Rani's return, all the roads and to say: 'Wow, what a great people we are, what an amazing people we are.'"

She explained her decision to enter politics by stating she is "continuing the mission that Rani accepted." She emphasized that Rani "went out to defend the State of Israel and he passed the torch to me." Guili endorsed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, citing his promise to return all hostages, including Rani, and his efforts to change the Middle East.

The Likud party noted that Rani Guili fought on October 7th despite being wounded, saving many lives before being killed and his body abducted to Gaza. They described him as the first to go and the last hostage returned, through Operation "Brave Heart." The party praised Talik and her family for their "extraordinary strength, deep faith, and unbroken determination," highlighting Talik's role in promoting Rani's heroism and Zionist values, making her a symbol of strength and commitment to Israel.
