New Likud Candidate Warns of National Amnesia if Opposition Wins
Talik Guili, the mother of fallen IDF soldier Rani Guili, who was the last hostage returned from Gaza, has joined the Likud party and appeared in a campaign video. In the video, Guili stated, "Our enemies are afraid of us today. If the other camp wins, everything we have achieved until now will fall. The memory of all the heroes of the kingdom who fought for us will disappear."
Guili's son, Sergeant Major Rani Guili, was killed in combat in Gaza and his body was held by Hamas before being returned. Her entry into politics and her statements are part of the Likud party's efforts to mobilize support by invoking national memory and the sacrifices made by soldiers.
