Three M-16 Rifles Stolen from Naval Commando Base; Soldier, Two Civilians Arrested
Israeli police and military police have arrested three suspects in a case involving the theft and suspected trafficking of military weapons, including three M-16 rifles stolen directly from soldiers serving at the naval commando base in Atlit. A soldier stationed at the base is suspected of orchestrating the theft. His arrest has been extended until next Wednesday by a military court.
Two additional civilians were brought before the Haifa Magistrate's Court, which is considering extending their detention. The investigation is ongoing, focusing on the illicit sale of military-grade firearms.
