Yavne Students Launch Rosh Hashanah Charity Drive for Local Families

Students from the "Schakim" six-year high school in Yavne organized a special community project ahead of the Rosh Hashanah holiday. The initiative involved collecting food products, preparing holiday packages, and distributing them to families in need within the city. The project aimed to integrate the school's growing student body into social action and foster a sense of responsibility and mutual guarantee within the community.

Students from seventh to tenth grade participated in collecting the products. Tenth graders took the lead in assembling the packages, packing them, and writing personal blessings for the recipient families. Parents also contributed to the project, assisting with the transportation and distribution of the packages throughout Yavne.

The initiative was made possible through collaboration between the school, municipal officials, and community partners. Key figures involved included Liron Koretz, principal of "Schakim" school; Sarit Benkemon, middle school social education coordinator; Suzi Daniel, high school social involvement coordinator; Shani Shimshon, municipal social involvement coordinator for the youth department; Oral Voskovoynik from the "LeShem Shamayim" nucleus; and the Social Services Department, which facilitated connections with families and the distribution process.

The school highlighted that the project embodies one of its core values: alongside academic learning, instilling responsibility for the community and the ability to empathize with and act for others.
