Top Rabbi Blesses Rosh Hashanah Apples and Honey at Girls' Institution

Days before Rosh Hashanah 5787 (2026), Rabbi Yissachar Dov Rotenberg, the Grand Rabbi of Makov, visited the 'Beit LePleitot' institution in Jerusalem to bless the apples and honey intended for the girls celebrating the holiday there. The institution is known for its work with young women.

Rabbi Rotenberg was welcomed by the institution's management, Rabbi Chaim Elazar Rosenfeld and Rabbi Gabriel Pappenheim. He expressed admiration for the organization's extensive activities, particularly hearing about the preparations for the High Holy Days. Recalling a previous visit in 5780 (2020) when a new wing was inaugurated, the Rabbi noted the significant expansion of the institution's rescue efforts, calling it a "blessing for all of Israel" and a "true salvation of the generation."

He also acknowledged the considerable work of his longtime friend, Rabbi Moshe Yona Rosenfeld, the institutions' president, who is currently abroad fundraising. Rabbi Chaim Elazar Rosenfeld presented the visiting Rabbi with an overview of the institution's expanded services, including the establishment of the 'Bechad' and 'Bishvilach' organizations, which support single-parent families.

The highlight of the event was Rabbi Rotenberg's solemn blessing of the apples and honey for the girls, delivered with deep reverence and love for his people. He offered blessings in biblical and rabbinic language, leaving a profound impression on all attendees.
