Woman Accused of Defrauding Men Online for Jewelry Purchases
The Central District Attorney's Office has filed an indictment against a resident of Netanya, accused of defrauding men she met on dating apps. The indictment alleges that the woman gained the trust of her victims, stole checks, credit cards, and property from them, and used these to purchase tens of thousands of shekels worth of gold jewelry.
According to the charges, she would contact men, meet them, and after earning their trust, steal from them. In some instances, the defendant allegedly approached individuals selling jewelry and other items on social media. She then purchased these items using stolen payment methods, forged documents, and false pretenses.
The investigation revealed that the suspect used the stolen funds and means of payment to acquire gold jewelry valued in the tens of thousands of shekels. The prosecution is seeking to extend her detention while the legal proceedings continue.
