Top Rabbis Unite for 'Life Deed' Campaign

In a rare display of unity, leading rabbis from various Orthodox streams in Israel have joined forces with the Va'ad Harabanim (Council of Rabbis) for a special campaign ahead of the High Holy Days. The initiative, dubbed 'Shtar HaChaim' (Life Deed), aims to encourage donations to the Va'ad Harabanim by offering a spiritual guarantee from these prominent religious figures.

The campaign features endorsements from a wide array of revered rabbis, including Rabbi David Landau, Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, and various Rebbes from prominent Hasidic dynasties such as Belz, Vizhnitz, and Sanz. Other signatories include Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Shternberg, Rabbi Dov Cohen, and Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein, alongside dozens more leading arbiters of Jewish law and yeshiva deans.

According to the campaign's messaging, the current difficult times, marked by numerous life-threatening situations handled by the Va'ad Harabanim, necessitate spiritual protection. The rabbis are quoted as stating that a donation to the Va'ad Harabanim is a significant merit for the Day of Judgment, ensuring salvation from troubles in kind. They promise that this merit will lead to favorable heavenly decrees.

The 'Life Deed' is presented not merely as a symbolic gesture but as a concrete promise from the rabbinical leaders for a year of life, ample livelihood, satisfaction from children, and overall success. The appeal emphasizes the urgency of this opportunity, especially given the current security, economic, and health challenges facing the nation, urging people to join the "tens of thousands" who have already participated to secure blessings for themselves and their families.
