Top Rabbis Endorse Charity for Health and Marriage Prospects

A special fund, 'VeHasireti Machala Mikirbecha' (Remove Sickness from Your Midst), established by the late Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky and based on his father Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky's teachings, is being expanded. The fund's rabbinical board, including prominent figures like Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein and Rabbi Shmuel Gali, held a meeting to review its activities and address recent tragedies affecting the Jewish people, emphasizing the need for increased protection.

The rabbis reaffirmed the fund's efficacy, stating that contributions to 'VeHasireti' demonstrably help prevent illness for donors and their families. To broaden its reach, they issued a call for more individuals to join the fund, citing a clear and proven reality that "whoever donates to the sick will not have sickness in their home."

They also extended the fund's spiritual benefits to those seeking marriage, declaring that individuals awaiting a spouse are considered "part of the body" and thus included in the blessing of health. A new practice has been instituted where a representative from the 'Kupat Ha'ir' charity will pray at Rabbi Kanievsky's grave on the eve of each new Hebrew month, continuing his custom of praying for donors' well-being.

Furthermore, a rabbinical court will convene on the eve of each new month, led by Rabbi Shmuel Gali, to pray for the continuation of Rabbi Kanievsky's decree that donors remain healthy. The rabbis have also committed to adding a special prayer for donors during Grace After Meals. Regular donors will receive a special document bearing Rabbi Kanievsky's signature and details of the monthly prayers offered on their behalf.
