Top Rabbis Sign Historic 'Life Deed' for Charity Campaign

Leading rabbis and Rebbes from across the spectrum of Israeli religious life have united to sign a "Life Deed" as part of a special fundraising campaign by the "Vaad Harabanim" (Council of Rabbis) organization. The campaign aims to raise funds to assist numerous families facing severe hardship, with the rabbis emphasizing the critical need for charity, especially in light of the difficult situation in Israel.

The signatories include prominent figures such as Rabbi Gershon Edelstein, Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, the Rebbes of Belz, Vizhnitz, and Sanz, along with many other leading Torah scholars. They have collectively called upon the public to donate to the Vaad Harabanim, stating that contributions to the organization, which helps families in various crises, offer a great merit for the Day of Judgment.

In a joint letter, the rabbis expressed that the "Life Deed" is more than just a blessing; it is a tangible promise for a year of good health, ample livelihood, and family nachas (satisfaction). They highlighted that the current difficult circumstances in Israel have significantly increased the number of those in need, with many cases involving life-threatening situations. The rabbis stressed the principle of "measure for measure," suggesting that donating to Vaad Harabanim, which saves lives, will result in personal salvation from troubles.

The "Life Deed" is being offered to donors as a means to secure a favorable judgment in the coming year. The campaign urges immediate contributions, framing this as a unique opportunity to receive the blessings and protection promised by the "pillars of the land" during this auspicious period before the Jewish New Year.
