Apple's New iPhone Duo Foldable Leaks Ahead of Launch Event

Hours before Apple's highly anticipated annual launch event, a significant leak has revealed key details about the company's upcoming products, including the name and pricing of its first foldable smartphone. The device, expected to be named the iPhone Duo, will reportedly start at $2,000 for a 256GB model and could reach up to $3,000 for higher storage configurations. It is slated for release in Israel concurrently with its U.S. debut.

The iPhone Duo is rumored to feature a wide, low design reminiscent of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series, powered by the A20 Pro processor and a proprietary C2 modem. It will support multitasking, allowing side-by-side app usage similar to an iPad. The rear camera system will include a 48-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel sensor for video calls. A notable feature is a magnetic mechanism on the hinge, enabling the use of an Apple Pencil directly on the large internal screen.

Alongside the foldable, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models, which will retain their familiar design but introduce a deep burgundy color option. The Pro Max will feature a mechanical aperture for improved optical depth-of-field control and enhanced low-light photography. The Dynamic Island has also been upgraded to track up to three live activities simultaneously. Due to a global chip shortage, the Pro models will see a $100 price increase, while the standard iPhone 18 and a more affordable model have been postponed to next year.

This event marks the first major product unveiling under new CEO Timurnus, who succeeds Tim Cook. Cook will be present as chairman of the board, while Turnus will present his vision for Apple's future growth and innovation to investors and the tech industry.

In wearables, the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 are anticipated, featuring new bands, a return of the ceramic casing, and a new 'Readiness' app to track health metrics like heart rate, blood oxygen, and recovery, aiming to compete with devices like Oura and Whoop. The watch will also include a secure AI feature for daily summaries without audio recording.

For audio, the AirPods 5 will launch with improved active noise cancellation and a wireless charging case. The release of a more advanced AirPods model with built-in cameras has been delayed to next year.
