Maccabi Netanya is seeking a club for midfielder Junior Diamonde, after coach Roni Levy decided he is not in the team’s plans for the coming season. Netanya will begin training next week, and the club wants to replace him with another foreign player.
Diamonde joined from Austrian side First Vienna last summer, but he played little and did not deliver the production expected from an attacking foreign midfielder. He made 27 appearances in all competitions and scored two goals. He still has two more years left on his contract with the club.
A move away would free up a foreign-player slot for Netanya. The club is also trying to find a team to take Georgian defender Saba Khvadagiani on loan, after he returned from injury.
In addition, Omri Scherer, who played only 15 matches in all competitions this season, may also leave on loan. His former club, Hapoel Ramat Gan, could be the destination.
