Maccabi Netanya Seeks Defender, May Freeze Out Khvadagiani

Maccabi Netanya is actively seeking to strengthen its squad, particularly in the central defense position, and is reportedly considering freezing out Georgian defender Saba Khvadagiani due to recurring knee injuries. The team is preparing for an upcoming match against Hapoel Ramat Gan, with Maor Levy sidelined for several days due to injury. Bassam Zaarura is expected to start in his place. Coach Roni Levy faces a decision regarding the left-back position, with options including shifting Bnei Feldman or starting Amit Cohen. Yarin Abuhazira is also out with an injury.

Levy has emphasized the deceptive league standing of their opponent, Hapoel Ramat Gan, noting their past challenges to stronger teams like Hapoel Be'er Sheva and Maccabi Haifa. Following the match, the club plans to negotiate a financial settlement with player Itay Ben Shabbat, who is being pursued by Hapoel Petah Tikva.

In terms of new acquisitions, the club is close to signing a new player, Isaac, who is expected to arrive within 24 hours for medical tests and a one-year contract worth approximately 15,000 euros per month. Netanya will have an option to purchase him for half a million euros, with a potential three-season deal.
