Israeli Auto Industry Sees Key Executive Appointments and Promotions
Several major Israeli automotive importers have announced significant executive appointments and promotions. At Smel, Dana Ravid-Menachem was appointed Vice President of the Premium Division in June, previously heading the Genesis brand and serving as marketing VP for Mercedes. Shi Karen was appointed Vice President of 'Smel for Business' earlier this month, succeeding Ronen Levi who will continue to advise the company on projects.
In a significant leadership change, the board of directors at Chamobil approved the appointment of Assaf Haralap as Chairman last week. He replaces his father, Dr. Shmuel Haralap, who passed away last month. Assaf Haralap, who has been with Chamobil for about 20 years, previously served as an active board member.
Union Motors Group has also announced a series of internal promotions and appointments, effective January 1, 2027. Dror Gornik will transition from CEO of Lexus Israel to Chairman of Union Mobility and Chairman of Union Industrial Vehicles, while remaining on the automotive division's board. Itay Hayon Levin will become CEO of Lexus Israel, Dor Pikel will be appointed Sales and Product VP for Toyota Israel, and Aryeh Leib will take over as CEO of Union Mobility.
