Israel Demolishes 35 Palestinian Structures in Northern West Bank
The Civil Administration's supervision unit conducted a large-scale enforcement operation in the northern West Bank on Wednesday, demolishing 35 Palestinian structures built without permits. These illegal constructions were located at strategic points near new settlements in the area, along access routes leading to these communities.
In addition to the direct demolitions, the operation's deterrent effect led to property owners voluntarily evacuating ten additional large structures and greenhouses. These voluntarily cleared structures covered a total area of approximately 50 dunams (about 12.3 acres).
Finance Minister and Minister in the Defense Ministry, Bezalel Smotrich, stated that the demolition of illegal structures in the northern West Bank is part of a broader policy to destroy illegal construction and create a significant deterrent balance. He emphasized that this action is intended to protect the communities of the northern West Bank, which he described as Israel's security strip.
