IDF Warns Hamas Re-arming, Strikes Gaza Sites

The Israeli military has detected alarming activity by Hamas in Gaza, with the group reportedly withdrawing weapons from storage to bolster its military control. Security officials cited by Channel 12 reported seeing Hamas members recently retrieving light arms, rockets, and other combat equipment from several depots. These weapons are allegedly being used for guarding Hamas sites, providing security, and reasserting control over the population. Israeli authorities view these actions as a violation of the ceasefire agreement.

In response, the IDF, guided by the Shin Bet, struck three warehouses containing dozens of weapons on Tuesday. A launch pit used for firing rockets at Israel during the war was also destroyed. Over the past week, the Southern Command conducted 16 targeted strikes against Hamas infrastructure and leadership, reportedly eliminating fourteen militants, including five company commanders and four battalion commanders.

The IDF also noted an increased willingness by Hamas to attack Israeli forces. Incidents included the launching of explosive kites and gunfire directed at soldiers along the "Yellow Line," as well as explosive devices targeting Israeli military engineering vehicles. These developments have heightened security concerns within Israel regarding the gradual rebuilding of Hamas's military capabilities in the Gaza Strip.
