Jerusalem Mayor Honors Community Leaders to Mark New Year
Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion hosted an event to honor community leaders and synagogue administrators, marking the start of the new year. The gathering, held at City Hall, aimed to recognize the vital role these individuals play in Jerusalem's neighborhoods, fostering connections among residents, leading charitable initiatives, and serving as community anchors.
The event, initiated by Mayor Lion, featured a musical performance by Kobi Arieli and his band. Attendees included Rabbi Yaakov Shapira, head of the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva, Jerusalem Municipality Director-General Ariela Reguan, community leaders, synagogue administrators, and youth movement representatives.
Mayor Lion emphasized the importance of community leaders in transforming the city into a home, stating, "The municipality builds the city, but you make it a home. We will continue to build Jerusalem together, from stone to person, from neighborhood to community, from infrastructure to soul. A good and sweet year, a good inscription and sealing for all of you."
Deputy Mayor Hagith Moshe highlighted their role in strengthening the bond between residents and the community, describing them as the "connection that links people to the community, and constitutes a significant anchor in the lives of the neighborhoods and the entire city."
