SAS Scandinavian Airlines Resumes Flights to Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has officially announced its return to the Israeli market, resuming direct flights between its hub in Copenhagen and Ben Gurion International Airport. The service will commence on October 26, coinciding with the start of the winter flight schedule. Initially, flights will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturday evenings, utilizing modern Airbus A320neo aircraft. Passengers will have the choice of economy or business class service.

This marks SAS's second attempt to establish a strong presence in Israel. The airline had previously restarted direct flights to Tel Aviv in October 2025, after a decade-long absence. However, those operations were limited to three weekly flights and were soon suspended due to a significant escalation in regional security concerns.

The airline's renewed commitment, including an increase in flight frequency, signals growing confidence in the stability of air travel to Israel and suggests a gradual normalization of the aviation market. This development occurs amidst ongoing security challenges in the region, yet indicates a positive trend towards recovery in international air connectivity.
