MK Fogel Reveals Dramatic Conversation With Ben-Gvir Led to His Departure
Member of Knesset Zviקה Fogel has revealed the reasons behind his decision not to run again with the Otzma Yehudit party, stating it was not due to demands for a ministerial position. Fogel explained on his X account that party chairman Itamar Ben-Gvir informed him during a conversation about forming the next Knesset list that he intended to build a list with a "different character." Ben-Gvir indicated that Fogel's "state-like" approach to his work did not align with the composition of the upcoming list.
Fogel stated that various accounts of his departure had been published recently, leading to numerous public inquiries. He felt it was important to clarify the situation from his perspective. He emphasized that he respects Ben-Gvir's decision to choose his associates and affirmed that he is "completely at peace" with his own conduct during his tenure as a Knesset member, chairman of the National Security Committee, and head of the Otzma Yehudit faction.
Fogel expressed pride in the achievements of the past four years and the methods used to attain them. He concluded by wishing his colleagues in Otzma Yehudit and the coalition success in the upcoming elections.
