A man in his 60s was shot dead overnight Thursday in Kafr Qasim, and another woman in her 60s was critically wounded and taken to hospital. Police opened an investigation and said the suspected motive is blood revenge tied to an ongoing dispute.
The shooting came amid a recent wave of deadly violence. Earlier this week, a 22-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was shot while filming a live TikTok broadcast as she sat in a restaurant in Jaffa. Police said that case was criminal in nature.
A few days before that, Walid Aghbariya, 51, from Musheirifa, was killed in a car bombing on Route 65 near the village. His wife, who was sitting beside him, was lightly injured. Three months earlier, their son Ahmad Aghbariya was shot dead.
The police have not yet announced any arrests in the Kafr Qasim killing. The article also notes that two other men were shot dead within hours in Kafr Qara and Ma'ale Iron, and that another murder suspect was killed in Maghar, where a man in his 20s was shot dead.
