Maccabi Tel Aviv Explores Signing Dynamo Kyiv Defender Oleksandr Surota
Maccabi Tel Aviv has inquired about the potential signing of Oleksandr Surota, a 26-year-old Ukrainian defender currently with Dynamo Kyiv. The Israeli club is looking to strengthen its defensive line, and Surota, who is Jewish, is reportedly not in Dynamo Kyiv's immediate plans.
Surota previously played for Maccabi Haifa during the summer of 2024, making 26 appearances across all competitions and scoring twice. He returned to Dynamo Kyiv at the start of the current season after loan spells in Turkey with Kasımpaşa and İstanbulspor. However, he has yet to debut for Dynamo Kyiv this season.
Earlier in the summer, Hapoel Be'er Sheva also reportedly considered Surota. The defender has represented Ukraine at the U-17 and U-21 levels and has earned two caps for the senior national team.
While exploring the possibility of signing Surota, Maccabi Tel Aviv is also preparing for their upcoming derby match against Hapoel Tel Aviv. Coach Keni Miler may stick with the same lineup that secured a significant 4-1 victory over Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the previous round.
