Maccabi Tel Aviv Nears Deals for Striker Soskler, Defender Andreou, and Midfielder Glazer
Maccabi Tel Aviv is working to finalize contracts with three players within a short timeframe: Slovenian striker Astr Soskler, Cypriot defender Stelios Andreou, and midfielder Dan Glazer. The deal with Glazer is expected to close within the next 24 to 48 hours. Although it was initially planned to be completed sooner, final details remain between Glazer and his current club Kairat, which he must resolve before returning to Maccabi Tel Aviv. The clubs have already agreed on terms.
Regarding Soskler, Maccabi aims to complete his signing quickly so he can integrate into the team and be available for European matches in about two weeks. Sporting director Steven Vanharan believes Soskler’s move from Radnički 1923, a Serbian club fighting relegation, to Maccabi Tel Aviv, which dominates possession and attacks frequently, will enable him to score significantly more goals than in his previous career. Last season, Soskler scored 15 league goals for a relatively small Serbian club. The club draws parallels to the successful transfer of striker Georghe Jovanovic from Čukarički to Maccabi, who also thrived after moving from a smaller Serbian team.
As for defender Stelios Andreou, Maccabi faces competition from clubs in higher-profile leagues but hopes to secure his signing soon. To register Soskler and Andreou, Maccabi Tel Aviv plans to loan out Henry Edu and freeze Ion Nicolescu’s registration.
The club is pushing to complete all three deals promptly to strengthen the squad ahead of upcoming competitions.
