38 Parties Submit Knesset Election Lists Before Deadline
The deadline for submitting candidate lists for the 26th Knesset elections passed on Tuesday evening, concluding a two-day period of submissions at the Knesset building. Central Elections Committee Chairman, Supreme Court Justice Noam Sohlberg, oversaw the process.
A total of 38 lists were submitted. Several parties, including "Yashar!", "Bechad", "The Democrats", "Yisrael Beiteinu", "Otzma Yehudit", "Amcha Israel", and the "Reservists List", submitted their documents on the first day. The "Shas" party submitted its list on Tuesday.
Some major parties, such as "Likud", "Religious Zionism", and "Blue and White", delayed their submissions until shortly before the 8:30 PM deadline. "United Torah Judaism" and "Noam" waited until the very last moments before the official closing.
The Central Elections Committee issued a statement clarifying that the submission of lists does not guarantee their final approval. All submitted lists, including candidate names, symbols, and required ballot letters, will undergo a comprehensive legal review according to established procedures.
