Cylake, Nir Zuk's New Cybersecurity Firm, Raises $245 Million
Cylake, an American-Israeli cybersecurity company founded by Palo Alto Networks founder Nir Zuk, has secured $245 million in funding through convertible notes. This latest funding round brings the company's total financing to $290 million, following an initial $45 million seed round in March led by Greylock Partners. The current investment was co-led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Israeli fund Picture Capital, and Redpoint Ventures.
As part of the funding, Ravi Mhatre of Lightspeed will join Cylake's board of directors, and Rakesh Loonkar from Picture Capital will serve as an observer. Cylake was established earlier this year by Zuk, who serves as CEO, along with Wilson Shieh and Ehud (Udi) Shamir, a co-founder of SentinelOne. The company currently has no employees in Israel.
Cylake is developing an AI-powered information security platform designed for large, regulation-bound organizations, including government entities, critical infrastructure, and financial institutions. The platform focuses on full operation within the client's local infrastructure (on-premises) or in air-gapped/sovereign clouds, without reliance on public cloud infrastructure. This approach aims to integrate AI capabilities while ensuring complete data sovereignty.
The company is currently working with design partners and plans to launch a beta version by the end of 2026. The official product launch is scheduled for 2027.
