Israel Navy Chief Warns Turkey as New Submarine Arrives

During a naval officers' course completion ceremony on Tuesday, senior Israeli security officials issued strong strategic messages regarding Israel's maritime superiority, regional threats, and the arrival of new strategic vessels. The head of the Israeli Navy directly addressed the Turkish Navy and regional states, stating, "We will not accept a reality where Israel's freedom of operation, or strategic interests in the national maritime space, are subject to threat." These remarks were made against the backdrop of escalating maritime tensions in the Middle East and the ongoing struggle to maintain international shipping lanes and Israel's economic waters.

The IDF Chief of Staff reviewed the military's operational achievements in recent campaigns, emphasizing the maritime arena and damage inflicted on enemy capabilities. He noted that the IDF had removed invasion threats and severely damaged Iran's launch capabilities and nuclear program, though regional threats have not entirely disappeared. During the event, it was revealed that the Navy's new submarine, INS Drakon, is en route in the Mediterranean Sea and is expected to arrive at its home port in Israel in the coming days. The sixth submarine in its class is a paramount strategic asset, expanding the Navy's operational reach to distant areas in the Middle East and beyond. These speeches come amid earlier reports from Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps claiming they had captured an unmanned American submarine in the Strait of Hormuz.
