The online betting platform Polymarket has issued clarifications regarding a bet placed on the closure of Israeli airspace, initially linked to fears of escalation with Iran. The bet was predicated on the assumption that widespread missile attacks would force Israeli aviation authorities to halt all flights, a scenario that has occurred briefly during past security events.

Polymarket acknowledged the controversy surrounding the bet's eligibility and stated that a "significant closure" is defined as a complete suspension, broad closure, or cancellation of commercial aviation across most of Israel's civilian airspace. Restrictions imposed by airlines or other countries, excluding Israel itself, will not be sufficient to validate the bet.
