Ninja Warrior Winner Links Athleticism to Entrepreneurial Success
Gil Merenz, winner of the second season of "Ninja Israel" in 2019, believes that the discipline and goal-setting required in sports directly translate to success in investment and entrepreneurship. He emphasized that understanding the objective is crucial, whether in training for a competition or building an investment strategy.
Following his victory, Merenz established "Ninja School," which has grown into the largest ninja school network in Israel with 12 locations. He also lectures on mental resilience and advises other entrepreneurs in the ninja industry. Merenz stated he never relied on fame, preferring to build stable, long-term businesses and infrastructure.
At 31, Merenz began his entrepreneurial journey after winning "Ninja Israel." Initially involved in setting up ninja and fitness centers for others, he later founded his own school. He described courage as the key trait for entrepreneurs and investors, admitting to initial fear but a lack of alternative to pursuing his goals. Merenz advises aspiring entrepreneurs to act, as action is the best way to discover one's capabilities and overcome fear.
Merenz acknowledged that his youth provided an advantage in taking risks, but stressed that assessing the worst-case scenario and one's ability to cope with it builds self-confidence. He believes that action, even with mistakes, leads to learning and greater self-assurance, enabling one to face more challenges.
His investment philosophy focuses on very long-term, intergenerational wealth creation, aiming to benefit future generations rather than immediate personal gain. Merenz prioritizes cash flow, which he uses to seize opportunities and build businesses that generate monthly income, thereby creating a foundation for generational wealth. He invests in real estate and stocks, focusing on long-term holdings and believing in the power of compounding over extended periods.
