Foreign National to Be Charged in South Tel Aviv Stabbing

Police announced Tuesday that a prosecution statement has been filed against a 57-year-old foreign national suspected of stabbing a person on Doron Street in southern Tel Aviv on August 30, 2026. The victim sustained upper body injuries and was evacuated for medical treatment in serious condition, according to medical officials.

Officers from the southern Tel Aviv station launched an investigation into the incident, collecting evidence. They subsequently arrested the suspect, who police say attempted to flee the scene. During his escape, he discarded a knife, believed to be the weapon used in the stabbing. The knife was located and seized by investigators.

The suspect was taken for questioning at the southern Tel Aviv station, and his detention was extended periodically. Following the accumulation of sufficient evidence, a prosecution statement was issued by the State Prosecutor's Office, indicating an indictment and a request to detain the suspect until the legal proceedings are concluded are expected in the coming days.
