Argument at Central Station Ends in Stabbing, 19-Year-Old to Be Charged With Attempted Murder

A prosecutor’s statement was filed on Wednesday evening against a 19-year-old from Jerusalem, suspected of stabbing a 64-year-old man during a violent incident that took place at the end of May in southern Tel Aviv. Police intend to seek the suspect’s detention until the end of legal proceedings against him, and in the coming days the State Prosecutor’s Office is expected to file an indictment with the court.

According to police, on May 29, 2026, a report was received about a 64-year-old man found injured with stab wounds on HaGdud HaIvri Street in Tel Aviv. MDA teams that were called to the scene provided him with medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital in serious condition.

Officers from the Sharet Police Station who arrived at the scene opened an investigation and conducted extensive searches in the area. During the operation, the suspect was located and arrested, and police say the knife allegedly used in the stabbing was found in his possession.

Police said the investigation showed that an argument developed between the suspect and the victim while they were at the Tel Aviv Central Station complex. During the confrontation, the young man allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in his upper body. As a result, the man was seriously wounded and taken for medical treatment.
