Maccabi Tel Aviv Defeats Rishon LeZion in Preseason Basketball Game
Maccabi Tel Aviv secured an 81-95 victory over Maccabi Rishon LeZion in a preseason preparation game held at Hader Yosef on Tuesday. The win allowed the Yellows to put behind them a previous loss to Bnei Herzliya. The team played without injured players J.J. Clark, T.J. Leaf, and Gur Lavi.
Under league rules for the game, Shanee Hunter was registered as a naturalized player, while Will Rayman did not play. This game marked the debut appearances for Yam Madar and Daniel Tice in the Maccabi Tel Aviv uniform. The team led from the start, though Rishon LeZion managed to stay close for approximately two and a half quarters.
Maccabi Tel Aviv established a double-digit lead in the middle of the third quarter, and the margin remained between 8-14 points in the closing minutes, concluding with the 95-81 win for coach Oded Katash's squad. Roman Sorkin was the top scorer for Maccabi Tel Aviv with 19 points, followed by Jalen Hurd and Oushe Brissett with 12 points each. For Rishon LeZion, Chauncey Jenkins led the scoring with 16 points.
Maccabi Tel Aviv is scheduled to travel to Nicosia for another preparation tournament, where they will face Aris Thessaloniki and Olympiacos in the coming days.
